Arduino Nano 33 IoT is a modern and versatile solution for building projects using wireless technologies. Despite the fact that the main microcontroller on the board is SAMD21 (based on the Arm Cortex-M0 architecture), the real power is hidden in the u-blox NINA-W102 module built on ESP-32. The module provides Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for this board, and the security of this connection is ensured by the ECC608 cryptographic coprocessor from Microchip. The icing on the cake is the accelerometer and gyroscope (6-axis IMU), which allow you to create and launch your first project without additional components for simple vibration alarm systems, pedometers, robot positioning, etc.
The developers provide examples of connecting this platform to various cloud services, from Arduino's IoT Cloud to Azure (from Microsoft) to Firebase (from Google). And the developers can completely untie their hands by flashing the NINA-W102 module, which will not only allow them to use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth simultaneously, but also make it possible to install a minimal Linux image.
The communication chipset in the Nano 33 IoT can be both a client and a host device for BLE and Bluetooth®, which is quite unique in the world of microcontroller platforms. If you want to see how easy it is to create a Bluetooth® central or peripheral device, explore the examples in the provided ArduinoBLE library.

The board is available in two versions:
- with a soldered GPIO connector (Arduino Nano 33 IoT With Headers / ABX00032)
- and without it(Arduino Nano 33 IoT Without Headers / ABX00027). This makes it possible to embed the Arduino Nano 33 IoT in ready-made projects by soldering directly onto another board, since its underside has no components.
