TheRaspberry Pi USB 3.2 Gen1 HUB HAT (17584 ) is designed to increase the number of USB devices that can be connected to the Raspberry Pi microcomputer. It allows you to simultaneously connect such devices as a USB Flash Drive, USB mouse, USB keyboard, USB card reader, USB printer, USB game console, USB fan, USB external storage device, etc.

The expansion card has 4 USB 3.2 Gen1 ports capable of providing high-speed data transfer (up to 5 Gbps) as well as powering these devices, as it has a special connector built in to connect an external power supply that serves these USB ports.

Since it is possible to fully utilize the potential of high-speed data transfer only in the Raspberry Pi 4B, which supports USB 3.0, other models limit the bandwidth to match the bandwidth of the USB port on the microcomputer board.

The availability of external power supply via the Micro USB 5V connector in combination with the built-in power supply of these ports allows for stable operation of external devices with high power consumption (such as removable disks, etc.)

You can visually check the status of the board and USB ports thanks to the built-in LEDs that indicate the respective device statuses (board power LED and USB port status LEDs).
