The CM4 is a computer module based on the Raspberry Pi 4 architecture, but with a smaller form factor that allows it to be easily integrated into various project devices. The main purpose of the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 I/O Mini Base Board (C) is to provide additional connectors and interfaces for connecting external devices to the CM4. The board has GPIO, HDMI, USB, Ethernet, and other connectors that allow you to connect a variety of peripherals such as displays, cameras, sensors, USB devices, and more.

The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 I/O Mini Base Board (C) extends the capabilities of the CM4 and provides more flexibility for CM4-based project development. It provides convenient connectors and interfaces for connecting a variety of devices and allows you to focus on developing project functionality without wasting time designing your own expansion board.

  6. HDMI0 connector: HDMI0 port, supports 4K 30fps output
  7. USB 2.0 ports: 2 USB 2.0 ports for connecting a variety of USB devices
  8. Gigabit Ethernet connector: RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet connector with 10/100/1000M network support
  9. M.2 indicator: indicates the operating status of the M.2 interface
  10. Raspberry Pi indicators:
    1. Green LED: PWR, indicating the status of the Raspberry Pi power supply
    2. Red LED: ACT, indicating the operating status of the Raspberry Pi
  11. Boot switch:
    1. ON: CM4 will boot from the USB-C interface
    2. OFF: CM4 will boot from an eMMC or TF card
  12. 40-pin GPIO connector for connecting various kinds of HATs
  13. TF card slot for connecting a TF card with a pre-recorded image (for the simplified version ONLY)
  14. FE1.1S: USB HUB chip, supports USB port expansion
  15. M.2 slot supports NVME SSDs or communication modules with PCIE M.2 KEY-M interface
  16. RTC chip enables RTC-related functions such as wake-up, shutdown, reboot, etc.
  17. Selects the RTC interrupt:
    1. GN-EN: terminate CM4 (default) after RTC interrupt
    2. PI-RUN: restart CM4 after an RTC interrupt
    3. D4: D4 pin is triggered by an RTC interrupt
  18. RTC battery holder supports CR1220 button cell
