TheIQaudio DigiAMP+ expansion card is designed for direct connection to two passive stereo speakers with up to 35 W per channel and adjustable output. It is a perfect fit for a Raspberry Pi-based hi-fi system. The IQaudio DigiAMP+ uses the Texas Instruments TAS5756M PowerDAC chip and connects to the Raspberry Pi's 40-pin GPIO connector.
It is compatible with the following devices: Raspberry Pi 1 Model B+, Raspberry Pi 2, Raspberry Pi 3, or Raspberry Pi 4.
The sound amplifier board is powered from an external source and requires a voltage level of 12-24 V DC. The manufacturer recommends using the XP Power VEC65US19 power supply.
The DigiAMP+ was designed specifically to fully power the Raspberry Pi microcomputer on which it is installed, providing 5.1 V at 2.5 A for its operation.
WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT POWER TO THE RASPBERRY Pi's OWN POWER INPUT WHILE USING THE DigiAMP+.
When you turn on the amplifier, it switches to the mute mode by default - the mute LED is on. Indication of the mute LED status is controlled by software (Raspberry Pi GPIO22).
P5: Alternative power input for wired installations. BE SURE TO OBSERVE THE POLARITY!
P8: TAS5756m Internal GPIO 1/2/3.
