Raspberry Pi 2 Model B v1.2
We do not store credit card details.
The Raspberry Pi 2 Model B v1.2 microcomputer is the next generation of the Raspberry Pi Model B, introduced in October 2016. It is based on the Broadcom BCM2837 single-chip system (SoC) with four 64-bit ARMv8-A Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 900 MHz.
The previous model Raspberry Pi 2 Model B Version 1.1 was a second-generation single-board computer based on the Broadcom BCM2836 single-chip system with four 900 MHz ARMv7 Cortex-A7 cores and a 250 MHz Broadcom VideoCore IV GPU, 1 GB of LPDDR2 SDRAM, which is twice as much as the Raspberry Pi 1 Model B+. Externally, the Raspberry Pi 2 Model B is not much different from the Raspberry Pi 1 Model B+. Only the processor has changed (it was BCM2835, now it's BCM2836) and the amount of memory.
As in previous models, the Raspberry Pi 2 Model B v1.2 features remain unchanged:
- full-size HDMI,
- 10/100 Ethernet,
- MIPI DSI (Display Serial Interface) and 15-pin MIPI CSI-2 (Camera Serial Interface) display ports,
- combined 3.5 mm audio jack and composite video,
- two-pin RUN connector for reset,
- 40-pin GPIO connector, including SPI, I²C, UART interfaces.
Main features of the model compared to the previous generation of Raspberry Pi 1 Model B+:
- Runs 6 times faster
- Equipped with a new generation quad-core ARMv7 processor
- Has 2 times more memory (1 GB of RAM vs. 512 MB), which means you can run more applications at the same time without sacrificing processing speed
- Has the same shape, so all B+ accessories are compatible with the Raspberry Pi 2 Model B
- Backwards compatible with most Raspberry Pi Model B+ projects
Specifications:
- Chip: Broadcom BCM2836 Arm7 with 64-bit quad-core processor running at 900 MHz
- CPU: Energy-efficient ARMv8-A Cortex-A53 application processor
- GPU: Broadcom VideoCore IV 250 MHz. Provides Open GL ES 2.0, OpenVG hardware acceleration and high-performance H.264 1080p30 decoding. Performance up to 1Gpixel/s, 1.5Gtexel/s or 24GFLOP with texture filtering and DMA infrastructure.
- Memory: 1GB SDRAM LPDDR2
- Operating system: booting from a Micro SD card running the Linux operating system. Raspberry Pi runs mainly on operating systems based on the Linux kernel: Android, Arch Linux ARM, openSUSE, Gentoo Linux, Raspbian, CentOS, Fedora, Ubuntu MATE, Kali Linux, Ubuntu Core. It is also possible to install Windows 10 IOT (OS is free), RISC OS Pi, FreeBSD, NetBSD, etc.
- Power supply: Micro USB 5V, 2A connector or power pins on the board. It is recommended to use a power supply with a current of at least 2A.
- Ethernet: 1 RJ45 10/100 BaseT port
- Video output: HDMI (version 1.3 and 1.4), composite RCA (PAL and NTSC). Streaming and viewing of high-definition video with 1080P resolution
- Combined 4-pole connector for stereo audio and composite video output
- Audio: multi-channel HD audio via HDMI, stereo via 3.5mm jack
- Interfaces:
4 USB ports
40-pin GPIO connector. The GPIO is 100% compatible with B+ and A+ boards. The first 26 pins are identical to Model A and Model B boards to ensure full compatibility across all boards,
full-size HDMI port
combined 3.5 mm audio and composite video jacks
1x camera interface (CSI) for Raspberry Pi camera modules,
1x display interface (DSI) for Raspberry Pi displays
Ethernet - Advanced power management: The ability to supply up to 1.2A to the USB port, allowing you to connect more power-hungry USB devices directly to the Raspberry PI. (This feature requires a 2A micro USB power supply)
Overall dimensions: 85mm x 56mm
Weight: 0.045kg
