TheMKR WIFI 1010 is an improved MKR 1000 WIFI. It is equipped with the ESP32 module from U-BLOX. Thanks to this module, creating WiFi-based IoT applications becomes much easier and faster. In addition, this board is also characterized by its low power consumption.
This board consists of three main blocks:
- SAMD21 Cortex-M0 + 32bit Low Power ARM MCU;
- U-BLOX NINA-W10 Series Low Power 2.4GHz IEEE® 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi;
- ECC508 Crypto Authentication.
MKR WIFI 1 010 is based on the 32-bit SAMD21 microcontroller. This model has a rich set of I/O interfaces, energy-efficient Wi-Fi with a crypto chip using the SHA-256 encryption method. In addition, ARDUINO offers its own Arduino Software development environment, which greatly simplifies the entire time-consuming programming process. All of the above makes this platform the best for creating new battery-powered IoT projects.
This device can charge Li-Po batteries, which means that in addition to charging from an external power source via a USB port (5V), the board can also run on battery power. Switching from one source to another is automatic.
Note: Unlike most Arduino and Genuino boards, the MKR WiFi 1010 operates at 3.3 V. The maximum voltage that the I/O pins can withstand is 3.3 V. Applying a voltage higher than 3.3 V to any I/O pin can damage the board.
Main features:
- u-blox NINA-W102. Provides Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity for the MKR WiFi 1010 board.
- Cortex-M0 32-bit SAMD21. Powerful processor with low power consumption, which is used in all MKR family boards.
- ATECC508 cryptographic chip. The ECC508 cryptographic chip ensures the security and privacy of your data and can store up to 16 keys in an EEPROM array.
