The Arduino CTC 101 Program - Self Learning / AKX00002SL is a 5-module STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts - humanities, language arts, dance, drama, music, visual arts, design and new media and Maths) program designed for students aged 13 to 17. It is the leading Arduino educational program for schools. CTC 101 uses a project-based learning methodology. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of programming, electronics, and mechanics through a series of playful, well-documented projects and easy-to-assemble experiments.
CTC 101 has been certified to the Finish Kokoa Education Standard™, which guarantees high educational value and robust pedagogical design for global learning.
Webinars are available in English, Spanish, or Italian for participants in this program.
The Arduino CTC 101 Program - Self Learning training kit includes:
- TOOLS: boards and components (more than 700 components) for a class of up to 30 students, as well as for teacher training.
- ONLINE PLATFORM: Access to the Arduino Education learning management system with step-by-step instructions and lessons for 26 experiments based on thematic modules.
- SUPPORT: self-study, webinar and forum under the supervision of Arduino Education experts.
The TOOL kit includes:
- 6 Arduino 101 boards: one of the most powerful Arduino boards for education, equipped with wireless communication (Bluetooth) and a built-in inertia measurement unit (IMU). They are programmable, able to read inputs (e.g., light on a sensor) and able to control outputs (e.g., by activating a motor).
- 6 Arduino Education Expansion Boards: additional boards that connect to the Arduino 101 and Uno boards to extend their functionality. The Education Shield is a custom-made expansion board developed by Arduino Education specifically for educational purposes, allowing you to learn quickly and easily when creating projects.
- More than 10 mini-layouts: used to facilitate circuit assembly. They can either be attached to the top of the expansion boards or used separately to connect other components.
- Electronic Component Kit: used to create interactive electronic circuits, includes resistors, potentiometers, LEDs, buttons, capacitors, and diodes.
- MODULINO™ plug and play module set: sensors and actuators with all the necessary components to be directly connected to the Education expansion board. The modules include a joystick, light and tilt sensors, and an infrared array.
- A set of sensors and actuators: light, shock, touch/capacitive, and infrared sensors. Actuators consist of standard and continuous servo motors.
- A set of batteries: Includes both 9V and 1.5V batteries, as well as 4 and 8 slot battery holders.
- Media and storage: Includes a webcam, SD card, and speaker. The Education Shield is equipped with an SD card reader and audio jack.
- Cable Kit: Includes all the necessary cables such as USB cables, connecting wires, module cables, battery snaps, alligator cables, and single-core cables.
- MDF plywood parts: MDF parts can be used for 10 different projects.
- Storage and sorting boxes. Electronic components can be sorted inside the boxes depending on their functions and sizes. After the MDF parts are removed from their frames, they can be stored in resealable storage bags to keep them organized for future use. A sorting box with dividers can be used to organize small components.
ONLINE PLATFORM:
Each CTC 101 kit includes user access to an online platform. Up to three instructors are granted access and can subsequently manage student access with a limit of 30 slots per toolkit. The online platform is powered by a Learning Management System (LMS) that helps students get started with programming, learn electronics, and create fully functional interactive projects under the guidance of teachers. Currently available in English, Spanish, Italian, and Catalan. Teachers are given access to students, allowing them to integrate the latest technology into their curriculum. The content and learning dynamics are specifically designed to improve students' problem-solving and teamwork skills in a collaborative environment.
The training is divided into 5 modules:
Module 1: Programming and basic coding.
Module 2: Arduino boards and digital signals.
Module 3: Analog signals and serial communication.
Module 4: Robotics, power systems and motors.
Module 5: Wireless communication via Bluetooth and advanced sensors.
Reference section: Additional materials and exercises for troubleshooting and further learning.
- The Arduino CTC 101 Program - Self-Learning Toolkit includes a dedicated online communication with the Arduino Education team from the very beginning: recommendations for purchasing the toolkit, accessing the online platform, student registration, and other issues related to deploying CTC 101 in the classroom.
- An online webinar will guide you through the content and tools available on the online platform (webinars are available in English, Spanish, and Italian).
- Self-paced learning. Educators can review video lessons and training materials at their own pace. CTC 101 has five study sections, one for each module, with an automatic assessment test upon completion.
- Access to a moderated forum where teachers share knowledge and experience with other CTC 101 teachers around the world.
- Certificate of completion for teachers.
