The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 WIFI6 Dual ETH Base Board (23589 ) is an expansion board specifically designed for use with the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4), providing additional features and functionality for projects using the Raspberry Pi CM4. It is suitable for developing networking devices, servers, uninterruptible power supply systems, and other projects that require reliability and advanced device connectivity. This board has several important features:
-
PoE (Power over Ethernet) support: This means that the board can receive power through an Ethernet cable. This allows you to power the board and the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 through a single cable, which simplifies the placement of the device and reduces the number of power supplies needed.
-
UPS (uninterruptible power supply): The board is equipped with a UPS feature that allows the Raspberry Pi CM4 to continue to be powered when the main power supply is disconnected. This provides reliability and protection against data loss in the event of a power outage.
-
Connectors and interfaces: The board has two Gigabit Ethernet connectors that allow you to connect devices to the network at high speed. There are also two HDMI connectors for connecting two video displays simultaneously and four USB 2.0 connectors for connecting peripherals.

Uninterruptible power supply
It is capable of simultaneously charging batteries and providing power output for the system from an external power supply
Automatically switches to battery power when external power is not available, keeping the system running smoothly

The built-in CSI and DSI connectors are 22-pin connector with 0.5mm pitch, it is recommended to purchase a CSI adapter and DSI adapter for use with camera and display with 15-pin connectors with 1mm pitch.

Many power supply options
Dynamic path control, more stable power supply

Three external power supply options: USB interface, wide voltage DC, and PoE
When connected to an external power supply, the system is powered and the battery will be charged at the same time, and the battery will be disconnected after fully charged to avoid damaging the battery life due to frequent charging and discharging
When the external power supply is insufficient, the battery will provide output power together with the external power supply at the same time to ensure the normal operation of the system
When the external power supply is connected, the system will continue to operate normally even if the battery fails or is removed. When the external power supply is disconnected, it will automatically switch to battery power without interrupting the system operation
Safe and stable circuitry
Overcharge/discharge, overcurrent, short-circuit and reverse protection circuits
Together with an autonomous fuse for each battery, more safe and stable

Real-time monitoring
Monitor battery voltage, current, power and remaining capacity via I2C
When the voltage drops too low, files can be saved appropriately, and then the system can be shut down programmatically to avoid data loss
